NorroaTM
Norroa™ targets a specific protein in varroa mites that ultimately stops their reproduction. Multiple years of field trials have demonstrated up to 18 weeks of mite control with one treatment and no negative impact on colony health or brood production.
Norroa™ is powered by vadescana, a new Mode of Action (MoA) for beekeeping based on RNAi. To use, carefully remove the sticker from the top of the pouch and place it on top of frames or the bottom board, leaving a 1/2-inch space for bees to access the pouch.

The benefits of NorroaTM
Norroa™ enhances bee health by promoting stronger colonies so beekeepers can enjoy healthier hives and yields.
Long-Lasting
Maintained fewer than three mites per 100 bees for up to 18 weeks in field trials conducted by experienced commercial beekeepers.
Resistance Management
Novel Mode of Action (MoA) makes it a great tool for resistance management and extending the longevity of active ingredients currently available to beekeepers.
Effective
In lab studies, foundress mites exposed to the active ingredient in Norroa™ had no offspring.
Flexible
It can be applied at any working temperature, as long as it's safe to open the hive.
Boost Winter Survival
Up to 75% winter survival in our field trials, almost twice the winter survival rate compared to the leading chemical treatment.
Bee Health
No negative impact observed on larvae, adult bees, or queens.
Apply NorroaTM when mite levels are low
For best results, use Norroa™ during periods of low mite pressure to support long-lasting control and healthier hives.
Long-lasting mite control
When applied before honey flow, Norroa™ provides longer and more effective mite control. It singularly maintained mite numbers below the 3 mites/100 bees threshold until the fall treatment was applied.
Safe and effective all year
Norroa™ provides dependable mite control through the fall. All treatment options consistently kept mite levels lower than untreated hives—helping your bees stay healthy and strong as they prepare for winter.

With NorroaTM
Queen lays eggs in brood cells.
Workers feed bee larvae brood food containing Norroa™, thereby exposing mites to active ingredient.
Norroa™ targets a specific mite protein, which stops the production of mite offspring.
Bee pupae develop normally and emerge with no new mites on them, allowing them to reach adulthood without mite disease.
Without NorroaTM
Queen lays eggs in brood cells.
Workers feed bee larvae.
Varroa mites lay eggs multiple times, doubling their population every four weeks.
Bee pupae reach adulthood weakened and often carrying disease from varroa mites.

How to apply NorroaTM
Step 1: Open the pouch carefully
Pull the tab and slowly remove the sticker to expose the perforations.
Peel from each corner, holding the pouch steady to avoid ripping or leaking.
Fully remove the instruction portion of the sticker and discard it.
If opening directly on the hive, smoke bees out of the way to clear the area.
Step 2: Activate the flow
For best results, gently squeeze the pouch with two hands to begin the flow of NorroaTM syrup.
Some dripping is okay—the correct dose will still reach the mites.
Norroa™ can be applied at any working temperature at which the hive can be safely opened.
Step 3: Place and monitor
Place the pouch on top of the frames or bottom board.
Keep it flat to prevent leaks and ensure proper flow.
Pouches typically empty within a few days—once empty, treatment is complete, and the pouch can be removed.

NorroaTM is a paradigm-shifting varroa mite treatment powered by Vadescana, a new Mode of Action in beekeeping. It contains no synthetic chemicals or harsh acids and works by targeting varroa mite reproduction—without harming honey bees. NorroaTM offers a clean, effective alternative for modern hive management.
To apply NorroaTM, place the pouch flat on top of the hive frames or bottom board, leaving space for bees to access it. Slowly remove the sticker on a flat surface to expose the perforations, then gently squeeze the pouch to start the flow. If needed, smoke bees out of the way before placing the pouch. The treatment is complete once the pouch is empty, usually within a few days.
